At long, long, LONG last we are finally almost back!
Hi there! I’m Lenny, your newly elected president. Writing those words, it still seems a bit unreal, but I am beyond delighted and humbled at being given this honor. I so look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work to serve this outstanding organization that has meant so much to me for so many years. Periodically throughout the coming year, I’ll be giving you all the news that’s fit to print. Lots of work is going on behind the scenes in preparation for our long-awaited reopening. It takes a village, no?
Here are a few highlights and things to look forward to:
At our Artist Membership Meeting in May, three new board members were elected to a three-year term. A hearty welcome to Jennifer Bennett, Leslie Berra and Wade Woodruff! Congrats, and I’m so excited to be working with you. To our outgoing board members, Tom Gregg, Matt Grimes and Pat Street, I cannot thank you enough for your friendship, leadership, guidance, and your sense of humor, particularly during this past year.
Brochures announcing our upcoming season have recently been sent out and are hopefully in your hands. Season ticket holders from 2019-20 were also sent a separate letter containing instructions on what to do with your unused tickets from that season. The deadline for transferring those tickets is August 1. See our Box Office page for more info. Box office Manager extraordinaire Johnny Peppers is making the magic happen accommodating these transfers, and we simply cannot thank him enough. Also, a huge thank you to the volunteers who helped sort, fold, label, stamp and stuff envelopes in order to get all this information out. It was a big task, and you all succeeded beautifully!
Thanks to the work of another army of volunteers, a bit of spring cleaning has been going on in our costume department in the past few months. Our big clean-up and clean-out is resulting in a costume giveaway on July 24 and 25 at the Theatre, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. All items in this yard sale-type event are FREE, but donations are accepted. Stop by and see what we’ve got to offer. High school theater departments and other local theaters, this is a great opportunity to find some unique and interesting treasures to add to your own costume collections. Our sincere thanks go to Michael Kelly and The Planning Group for so generously donating space for us to house our costumes for many, many years.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 28. You won’t want to miss our kNOT Awards Picnic at Jim Warren Park. Dan Kassis, Beth Woodruff, Sarah Kieffner, and Chelsea Craig have been hard at work planning this event. It won’t be a typical celebration of a season, but a celebration of our great organization, and will serve as a sort of unofficial grand reopening. This event is free (an optional boxed dinner meal is available for $15) and open to EVERYONE—long-time members of the Pull-Tight family as well as anyone wanting to join our merry band. It’s going to be a great party, and I absolutely cannot wait to see you all! Please register if you are planning to attend. Picnic ticket reservations close August 27; box dinner tickets reservations close Aug 14.
There is much more to come this year. Stay tuned for information on our opening show, The Real Inspector Hound, directed by Tom Gregg, as well as other grand reopening festivities.
Thanks so much for sticking with us during these unprecedented times, and welcome back. We’ve missed you!
See you at the theater,
Lenny West
