Other Annual Awards

The Newcomer of the Year Award is given to an individual named by the Pull-Tight Board of Directors who is within their first two seasons as an active Pull-Tight Artist Member and has made notable contributions to the theatre.

The Behind the Scenes Award is awarded by the Pull-Tight Board of Directors to an individual who has made significant contributions during the past year, neither onstage nor in strictly technical areas, but in other areas that support the theatre, examples of which may include committee work or providing other volunteer assistance.

The Jim Highfill Techie of the Year Award was named for Jim Highfill following his death in 2001, based upon his decades of contributions to the theatre, both onstage and off. A favorite Pull-Tight actor, he was also a frequent contributor to set building and light and sound execution. This award is chosen by the Pull-Tight Board of Directors to honor an individual who has made exceptional contributions to the theater in technical areas during the past year.

  • Marianne Clark, Jim Highfill – Hello, Dolly! – 1986
  • Cam Davis, Jim Sackett, Daryle Tallent, Jim Tallent – South Pacific – 1996

The Cam Davis Spirit Award was originally called the President’s Award, and was named for Cam Davis following her untimely death in 1998, to honor her cheerful and enthusiastic spirit and willingness to take on new challenges. This award is chosen by the President of the Board of Directors. It has traditionally been awarded to an individual who exemplifies the spirit of Pull-Tight, or to an individual who has been significantly helpful to the President during their presidential year.

Pull-Tight Lifetime Voting Members

The designation of Lifetime Voting Member is conferred by the Pull-Tight Board of Directors to honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the theatre, and for various reasons are now less able to be involved in a hands-on way that would allow them to continue earning voting privileges each year.
