Cast Is Set for ‘The Book of Will’

The Book of Will at Pull-Tight Players

Director Lenny West has announced the cast for Lauren Gunderson’s award-winning drama, The Book of Will. The play, part of Pull-Tight Players’ 54th season, will open February 3.

“The turnout for this audition was so far beyond what I ever hoped for, both in terms of quantity as well as quality,” remarked West. “To say it was a director’s dream is an extreme understatement. My hat is off to every single person who took the time to share their time and immense talent with this production and our theater. The cast we ultimately assembled … I mean, I have no words! This cast is something seriously extraordinary, and I cannot wait to share the journey of this incredible play with them.”

The cast is as follows.

John Heminges — Steve Mook, who most recently appeared in All My Sons.

Henry Condell — Jon Kieffner, who was the titular character in The Real Inspector Hound.

Alice Heminges — Megan Roberts, in her third consecutive show following Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.

Rebecca Heminges — Jennifer Bennett, a member of our board of directors and one of the Pigeon sisters in The Odd Couple.

Elizabeth Condell — Stephanie Dillard, who played the baker’s wife in Into the Woods.

Ben Jonson/Francisco — Matt Grimes, a past board president who appeared in Death of a Salesman.

Ralph Crane — Donald Seitz, a newcomer to Pull-Tight Players.

William Jaggard — Woody Woodruff, who played a double role in Legally Blonde.

Isaac Jaggard/Barman 2 — Nathan Basner, whose first role at Pull-Tight was this seasons’ All My Sons.

Anne Hathaway Shakespeare — Adele Akin, an ensemble member of Waiting in the Wings.

Richard Burbage/Sir Edward Dering — Roger Csaki, the one and only Ford from Madame Buttermilk.

Emilia Bassano Lanier/Susannah Shakespeare & others — Bridget Dunn, another new face at Pull-Tight.

Boy Hamlet/Marcus/Marcellus & others — Philip Johnson, who went wrong in The Play that Goes Wrong.

Ed Knight/Barman 1/Bernardo & others — Stephan Roselin, rounding out our list of Pull-Tight newcomers.

Barmaid/Compositor/Horatio & others — Autumn Siebold, assistant stage manager for All My Sons.

Tickets for The Book of Will will go on sale January 23.

Announcing the Cast of ‘Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella’

Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella at Pull-Tight Players

Director JT Landry has released the cast list for our December production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, part of our diverse and entertaining 2022-23 season.

“We have assembled a stellar cast for our upcoming production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” remarked Landry. “We can’t wait for you to experience the magic December 2 through 17. Midnight is calling.”

The cast, including both veterans and newcomers, is as follows.

Ella – Crystal Kurek, a Pull-Tight newcomer who recently played Cinderella in a production of Into the Woods.

Topher – Ross Canales, another new face who appeared this summer in Little Women: The Musical in Eugene, Or.

Madame – Sarah Kieffner, director of this year’s The Play that Goes Wrong.

Sebastian – Jeremy Hargis, a past season executive producer and cast member of Waiting in the Wings.

Marie – Lisa Graham, a veteran actress with Murfreesboro Center for the Arts.

Gabrielle – Chelsea Craig, who most recently starred as Carly Speranza in Pull-Tight’s production of Madame Buttermilk.

Charlotte – Sydney Hooper, returning to our stage following her appearance in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Jean-Michel – Forrest Hutchinson, adding to our slate of Pull-Tight first-timers.

Lord Pinkelton – Logan Michael, a board member and artistic director at Elite Studio Works in Murfreesboro.

Ensemble – Erin Hailey (Big Fish), Bev Kassis (Waiting in the Wings), Megan Roberts (All My Sons), Rachel Sinclair (The Miracle Worker), and David Weatherbee (lighting and sound technician on Crimes of the Heart).

Tickets for our 12 performances will go on sale Nov. 21.

Cast Is Set for Arthur Miller’s ‘All My Sons’

Pull-Tight Players’ first drama of its 2022-23 season is Arthur Miller’s Tony-winning All My Sons. First staged in 1947, the play unfolds the story of an American family caught up in the tragedy that follows secrets and betrayal. Pull-Tight last produced the show in 2001.

The next production will open Sept. 30. Daryle Tallent, who most recently appeared in last season’s Madame Buttermilk, directs, with production by JK Gregg and Mark Mason.

The cast is as follows:

Cabot Pyle as Joe Keller – Cabot most recently appeared in last season’s closer, The Odd Couple, and also appeared as Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman.

Jeanne Drone as Kate Keller – Jeanne appeared in 2020’s Waiting in the Wings, and directed The Miracle Worker.

Megan Roberts as Ann Deever – Megan won Pull-Tight’s Newcomer of the Year award in 2021. She played Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker.

Lenny West as George Deever – Lenny won Most Valuable Player for his role in The Odd Couple. He will direct this season’s The Book of Will.

Steve Mook as Jim Bayliss – Steve served on the crew of last season’s opener, Crimes of the Heart.

Willa Ross as Sue Bayliss – Willa appeared in our 2004 production of Steel Magnolias.

Tom Gregg as Frank Lubey – Tom appeared as Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple, and played Victor Fleming in 2019’s Moonlight and Magnolias.

Meredith Seymour as Lydia Lubey – Meredith returns to Pull-Tight after last appearing in Waiting in the Wings.

Pull-Tight also welcomes Nathan Basner as Chris Keller and Chandler Young as Bert.

Tickets for All My Sons will go on sale September 19.

Actors Cast for ‘The Play that Goes Wrong’

The 54th season of shows at Pull-Tight Players will “day-boo” with a show demonstrating the power of Murphy’s law at work. Everything that can go wrong will hilariously do so when The Play that Goes Wrong opens July 29 at the Pull-Tight Theater in Franklin, Tenn.

Director Sarah Kieffner, who most recently led the comedy Moonlight and Magnolias, released her list of chosen wrong-doers.

The Play that Goes Wrong is written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields.

General tickets will go on sale Monday, July 18.

Cast Is Set for ‘Crimes of the Heart’

Cindy Davis Massey, director of the upcoming production of Crimes of the Heart for Franklin’s Pull-Tight Players, announced her cast for the show. The announcement follows the first show auditions the organization has held in two years, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Crimes of the Heart, written by Beth Henley, first appeared on the Pull-Tight stage during the 1989-1990 season. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1981 and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play. The story details the lives of three sisters in mid-20th century Mississippi.

Director Davis Massey and stage manager Jeanne Drone appeared in the first Pull-Tight production of the play.

Davis Massey reminisced about her appearance in the first Pull-Tight production.

“In 1990 the late Wesley Fox cast me in the role of Meg MaGrath. I was thrilled and immediately became a fan of playwright, Beth Henley,” she said.

“There were so many different directions I could have gone with casting. We had a plethora of talent at auditions. What I ended up with is the perfect blend of actors to bring this story to life. They are energetic, experienced and eager to take the stage.”

“I am excited to bring live theatre back to Franklin and look forward to spending these next two months with this outstanding group of people.”

Crimes of the Heart will run February 4-19, 2022 at Pull-Tight Theater. General public tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. January 24.
